28th Annual Council 93 Memorial Scholarship

AFSCME Council 93 is proud to announce its 28th Annual Council 93 Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships are renewable for each year of attendance with yearly proof of enrollment.

ELIGIBILITY:
Open to Council 93 Members and their spouses, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and legal dependents.  Acceptance into or already attending an accredited two-year or four-year
college, university, community college, graduate school, or recognized technical or trade school.

Scholarships are awarded for a maximum of four consecutive years.

AWARD CRITERIA

Applicants must submit a 500 to 750 word, typed essay based on the prompt:  "UNIONS HAVE BEEN IMPORTANT TO MY FAMILY BECAUSE ... "

  • The Scholarship Committee encourages applicants to discuss the topic with the Union Members in their lives to learn what Union Membership has meant to them.
    The Scholarship Committee will review and rate each essay; the top 5 rated essays will be selected. Personal specifics such as names, local numbers, and Cities/Towns will be redacted when presented to the committee for rating, to ensure complete impartiality. The decision of the Committee is final.

  • Applications and essays must be received by July 1, 2025.
